The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is situated, against the backdrop of the Kedarnath range. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won the Kurukshetra war felt guilty for having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface.
The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places –
The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

Brief Itinerary
Day 0: Delhi to Phata
- Arrive in Delhi, meet and greet with our representative and then Start your journey.
- Board the vehicle, and start the overnight journey from Delhi to Phata.
Day 1: Stay in Phata
- A Drive Through the Mountains, Visit Devprayag (Alaknanda Bhagirathi Sangam) and Rudraprayag (Mandagni Alaknanda Sangam) on the way.
- Reach Phata in the Evening.
- Check-in to the stay.
- Explore Phata on your own, and
- Night stay in Phata
Day 2: Trek to Kedarnath Dham
- After Breakfast Check-out from the Stay. And Start our Day.
- Drive from Phata to Sonprayag. Move to Gaurikund, Start the Trek to Kedarnath with Holy Dips in Gaurikund.
- Reach Kedarnath Temple till evening, Attend Evening Aarti at Kedarnath Ji
- Night stay in Kedarnath
Day 3: Kedarnath Ji Darshan
- Start your day early morning Get ready for the Kedarnath Dham Darshan.
- Check out from the Stay and Head towards the Darshan lines.
- Do Darshan of Kedarnath Ji.
- Trek back to Gaurikund, Move to Sonprayag, Drive from Sonprayag to Phata Reach Phata in Night.
- Night stay in Phata.
Day 4: Rishikesh
- After Breakfast Check-out from the Stay. Get ready for a beautiful drive in the Dev Bhoomi Uttrakhand. Reach Rishikesh in the Evening.
- Do local sightseeing of Rishikesh Attend Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, and Depart for Delhi as an Overnight journey.
- Reach Delhi by Night or the next day Morning
- Time to end the trip with lots of memories and Emotions towards Kedarnath Dham.
